United States Postal Service requires you to:
- Put your house or apartment number on the mailbox.
- If your mailbox is on a different street from your house or apartment, put your full street address on the box.
- Mailboxes take a beating from the weather, so we recommend an annual mailbox checkup to avoid difficulty identifying your address.
A visible address can be the difference between life and death.
State safety ordinance states, address numbers and or letters should be placed on the side of the building facing the street in close proximity to and in the general area of the entrance/door, “in a position, and at a height which shall be easily visible from the street, or within 30 ft..”
